First off, let’s look at the design, it’s sleek and compact, making it easy to setup and mount without being obtrusive. It feels solid with high-quality materials, giving it a professional look and feel. We love the fact that it comes with a silicone lens cap as well, so you can protect the lens when not in use or in transport.
Give me the specs please
Looking at some of the specs, this camera ticks all of the boxes for me. 1080p HD at up to 60fps, flavors that include 12, 20 and 30 times optical zoom, HDMI, SDI and USB type C, as well as RTMP for direct streaming to YouTube as well as SRT. It comes NDI HX3 ready, with a simple add-on license. And we can’t forget PoE and Auto Tracking.
What about the camera
When we took this unit out of the box and fired it up for the first time, we were pleased with the image quality and color. It seemed natural with no discoloration and natural skin tones. A quick white balance it even better, and we were pleased to see the ability to select a specific Calvin temperature.
Next we explored the web GUI, which was super easy to access, and the camera even displayed it’s IP Address on the HDMI output during startup. The Web Gui was intuitive with everything we would expect. One thing that we really appreciated was the Profiles. The camera has tons of available presets, but the custom profile allows you to recall much more. We were also excited to see how easy it was to use the RTMP stream settings- and surprised to see a second stream available. This makes it super easy to stream direct from the camera, without a computer or hardware encoder! And a pro feature we were not expecting to see in this camera is SRT. This makes it super convenient to stream full-quality on network or across the internet with low latency. And we were impressed with the easy setup of the camera tracking! When enabled, it just worked with very little configuration. And it nicely followed the subject.
A popular option is NDI- and even though this camera doesn’t ship with NDI enabled, a simple license add-on is all that is required. And the NDI is HX3 for bandwidth sensitive situations, but still with low latency. And we just love the fact that we have Power over Ethernet, which makes installation super easy with a single cable.
What we love
We love the camera’s physical footprint and sleek look, the camera profiles as well as the image quality, camera tracking, and something as simple as user selectable kelvin temperatures for white balance
